Reality Check – MiraQua, small electric car claims zero-emission fuel efficiency

The concept
We had previously talked about green vehicles, and how they should be cost-effective in the long run. But energy efficiency doesn’t necessarily limit itself to fuel consumption; it is about the space management and parking solutions as well, especially in relation to the current state of cramped urban environments much throughout the world. Now MiraQua (Miracle + Aqua) is presented to be one such conception (conceived by Chinese designer Chaoyi Li) that addresses all of the above problems with its compact design and zero emission fuel efficiency. The unique design will allow the passengers to enter into the car through an entirely foldable front section. While the space on the outside is reduced, the interior is adroitly designed to maximize the available area, in a way adding a new and convenient dimension to urban commuting.
The vision:
In the present scenario with increasing complexity of transit systems, a significant part of the urban populace wants to have their own set of wheels. Of course, it will in effect add to already dire situation of pollution and carbon emissions. But conceptions, such as the fully electric MiraQua, can provide us with the righteous solution, employing its zero emission features, four-seater capacity and its sprightly albeit concise demeanor.
The inspiration:
Instigation or inspiration? According to the designer, the world is suffering from rapid urban sprawl, fast population growth, congestion and pollution. And with the increasing number of private vehicles, it doesn’t really auger well for the environment. So with an aim to rectify the situation, along with providing that optimum level of customer satisfaction, the designer has contrived of the MiraQua. Now enhancement of living standards “fueled” by green technology isn’t such bad news for our overall sustainable economy.
Purpose:
The tiny car has compact features that can tacitly challenge our urban parking woes. And along with making parking easy, this fully electric vehicle can also spurt its way through the congested traffic in a completely zero emission mode.
Features:
This is how the car can be aptly described - modernistic and minimalistic, imbibed with an advanced “green” technology. Integrating an in-wheel-motor and drive-by-wire-mechanics, the body will also include a free interior floor space of around 1.9 x 0.6 meters. But the distinctive feature of this electric vehicle would be its entirely foldable front section. This, in turn, would conveniently allow passengers as well as bulky luggage to be put up inside the car. Additionally, the entire passenger side leg area will be available for stowing things.
Can this be real?
Yes, very much so, in relation to its functionality and sustainability and specifically in context of the modern urban fabric. A zero emission, fuel efficient car that doesn’t require substantial amount of road and parking space, can certainly be a big hit with urban commuters. The only concern may be the spaciousness of the interior, but that too could be solved by employing ingenious design techniques.
