Sleek Curved Design Transforms 550 Sq. Feet Apartment in the French Alps

Invited to re-design a 550 sq. feet apartment in the sky resort Les Menuires,tiny-rooms specialists H2O Architects came up with a great idea: instead of trying to fit all the family's furniture into the space, why not adjust the apartment to the furniture?

Thus, they created a curved structure that holds four beds, a reading space, two bathrooms, the kitchen and storing facilities, freeing an ample living space that does the apartment's incredible views some justice.

In response to the owners request, all beds have some privacy, which is remarkable for such a small space. This is accentuated with curtains that can be rolled out from a central wall which holds dishes and cooking equipment.

Apart from being fully functional and airy enough not to impose over the place, the wooden structure also gives the space the feeling of a reinterpreted, contemporary cabin.

The project (h/t Plataforma Arquitectura) gives some great ideas for small space owners, especially with children. Those bunk beds almost seem like a room of their own, and it's no surprise they come from this firm, consideringprevious projects in space-constrained Paris.
