Peskesi restaurant by Tectus Design, Heraklion – Greece

In the centre of the city of Heraklion, in a quiet pedestrian street just seconds away from the heart of the city, you can find Peskesi Restaurant. It is open from the morning for coffee & lunch until the evening for drinks & dinner.

An old mansion renovated very carefully, with great respect to the character and the energy that the old building has. The stone walls were kept, cared for properly and combined with a new material, kurasanit, in a deep green colour. The floor was coated with tiles in brown earth tones and the lighting, which was specially designed, is led.

One of the rooms of the old house is the bar. In this small but atmospheric place the wooden ceilings have been restored and the chandeliers that once decorated the house have been placed over the bar. Each of the other rooms has a special feature, such as ceiling beams tied with ropes, a modern manufacture of sheet metal in geometric design and tied ropes across the courtyard with wooden pegs which give the appearance of an old clothes hanger. All of these items and decorations have been chosen carefully and help picture the past in a beautiful environment.
