The New Mercedes GLA

As one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles in its segment, the new GLA-Class is now setting benchmarks in the SUV world.

Mercedes-Benz analyses the environmental compatibility of its models throughout their entire life cycle – from production, through their long years of service, to recycling at the end of their lives.

LEADING THE SEGMENT.

Progressive in design, serene in day-to-day motoring and with off-road capability – as a wanderer between automotive worlds, the Mercedes-Benz GLA impressively reinterprets the compact SUV segment. It also boasts high environmental compatibility, as has now been confirmed by the neutral inspectors from the TÜV Süd technical inspection authority, who have awarded the GLA-Class from Mercedes-Benz the Environmental Certificate in accordance with ISO standard TR 14062. The award is based on a comprehensive life-cycle assessment of the model series, documenting every detail of relevance for the environment.

All the engines in the GLA already meet the Euro 6 emissions standard and both diesel units are in efficiency class A.

INCREASED USE OF RECYCLED
AND NATURAL MATERIALS.

"We have already demonstrated with the M- and the GLK-Class that energy efficiency and environmental compatibility are fully reconcilable with an SUV. As one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles in its segment, the new GLA-Class is now setting benchmarks in the SUV world," notes Professor Dr Herbert Kohler, Chief Environmental Officer at Daimler AG. Mercedes-Benz analyses the environmental compatibility of its models throughout their entire life cycle – from production, through their long years of service, to recycling at the end of their lives. This analysis goes far beyond the legal requirements.

Competent in everyday situations and agile on unpaved roads too: a rambler between automotive worlds, the Mercedes-Benz GLA convincingly re-interprets the segment for compact SUVs.
Competence and power in the garb of an SUV.
A competent companion in everyday situations, the GLA has a flexible and variable interior.

MADE FOR INDIVIDUALISTS.

The strong and competent appearance of the exterior is continued consistently in the interior. The strong horizontal emphasis and the dynamic design are further characteristics. Added to this is a high sense of perceived value, encompassing the design, the options available and possibilities for combining top-class materials. Matt and high-sheen 3D geometries create an attractive play of light. The large selection of materials and colour combinations for seat covers provides great scope for individualisation. Sports seats with integrated head restraints are available to the customer as special equipment upon request. The volume of the luggage compartment can be increased by 60 litres thanks to the optional luggage compartment package. The equipment lines Style, Urban and AMG Line are available for even more individuality. During the first year, the Edition 1 will be available in limited quantities as a special model.

The particularly rigid structure of the body forms a reliable basis for a broad power output range.

The GLA moves with a fuel consumption as low as 4.3 litres/100 km, thus setting new standards in its segment. The modern four-cylinder engines with turbocharging and direct injection provide for dynamic pulling power coupled with the highest efficiency.

All of the engines are equipped with the ECO start/stop function as standard. The engines are combined with either a six-speed manual transmission or the optional 7G-DCT dual clutch automatic transmission, both of which unite comfort and sportiness in a particularly special way.

Further developed assistance systems relieve the driver in the GLA.
The new GLA is equipped with the most recent developments of seamless device integration.
